Noddfa is a Welsh word meaning refuge or shelter. At St.
Joseph Center in Tipton, Indiana, you will find a feeling of refuge in a century old farmhouse known as Little Noddfa. Whether you sit on the screened porch, meditate in the humble chapel, snuggle up in the family room or walk the labyrinth, you will most certainly find the peace and quiet for which you are searching. Visitors of all denominations are welcome and invited to share in God’s inclusive, dynamic love.

A ministry of the Congregation of St. Joseph located in Tipton, Indiana, Little Noddfa provides a refuge and resource conducive to deepening unity and reconciliation within oneself, with God, others and all creation.

Come Away to a quiet  place of rest
A retreat at Little Noddfa is an opportunity to leave the stresses of life behind and withdraw to a quiet place to rediscover the sacred in your life.
It is a journey into solitude, then back again to daily life...refreshed and renewed.

Types of Retreats Offered:

A. Private Retreat

  • One or more days
  • Time alone with another
  • Personal agenda of rest, reading, exercise, and prayer

B. Individually Directed Retreat

  • Two to eight days
  • Alone time with God
  • Daily meeting with spiritual director to reflect on your prayer and inner movements and to discern together the direction for the next day’s prayer

C. Small Group Retreat

  • Two to six people
  • One or more days
  • You provide the program and facilitation or a staff member may assist you

D. Spiritual Direction

  • Regular meetings with an experienced Spiritual Director skilled in the art of listening
  • Opportunity to be more attentive to the movements of God in your life

E. Outdoor Labyrinth

  • Open to everyone
  • Walking the Labyrinth is a way to regroup, recharge and reconnect with God
  • Assistance in planning a labyrinth retreat is available upon request
